How Communities In Schools Works

Communities In Schools

  1. Acts as a non-partisan broker between schools and service providers.
  2. Enhances existing services through informed assessment and coordination.
  3. Creates a coordinated service delivery system tailored to individual school needs.
  4. Cultivates additional resources where none exist.
  5. Creates a system change valuing the role of parents, students, school, and community members as equal stakeholders in the process and product.
  6. Supports the school system in building and maintaining school-community relations in order to raise achievement levels.
  7. Offers unique structures, strategies, materials, and models for bringing the community to the school.
  8. Tracks individual service provider impact as well as collective impact of all service providers on the whole-school outcomes (i.e., attendance, promotion/graduation, student achievement and incidents of discipline).
